About

Photo of David Ewins

My career began in science, before transitioning into creative roles and account management. Having worked across corporate and creative sectors, I understand the pressure to perform and the challenges of balancing the demands of modern life.

I felt a strong pull toward a vocation where I could be of service to others, which led me to complete intensive postgraduate therapy training and establish a private practice supporting people on their own journeys.

My therapeutic background is grounded in Psychosynthesis—an integrative therapy combining psychodynamic & transpersonal psychotherapy—which allows us to work with your immediate challenges and also helps you connect with your deeper potential, sense of meaning, and personal growth.

As a therapist, I am dedicated to continuous professional development, regularly undertaking further training and adhering strictly to high clinical and ethical standards.

Having experienced personal therapy myself—both as a requirement of my professional training and for my own growth—I deeply appreciate how it feels to sit in the client’s chair.

FAQs

Example Areas of Therapeutic Work

Note: these areas of experience include, but are not limited to, the following:

Anxiety & Stress Management

Overwhelm, persistent worry, panic attacks, and burnout.

Anxiety can feel like a constant internal noise or a sudden physical hijacking. Together, we can explore your underlying triggers, understand how stress manifests in your body, and develop sustainable, grounded ways to move forward.

Depression & Low Mood

Feeling stuck, burdened by sadness, emotionally numb, or disconnected.

Depression often robs you of vitality, making the smallest tasks feel monumental. Our work will involve gently sifting through residual thoughts, tracking repeating patterns, and unlocking a sense of self-empowerment to help you reconnect with meaning.

Trauma & Challenging Past Experiences

Unresolved childhood events, relational wounds, and the long shadow of difficult memories.

The past has a habit of living in the present, influencing how you react to today's challenges. I provide a safe, paced space to process these painful experiences, helping you untangle old survival mechanisms and integrate them so they no longer control your narrative.

Identity, Belonging & Diversity

Navigating the nuances of LGBT+ dynamics, mixed-heritage identity, and the pain of 'Othering'.

Feeling like you don't fit into standard boxes can lead to a profound sense of isolation. Whether you are navigating systemic marginalization, exploring intersecting identities, or dealing with cultural displacement, we will hold space for your whole, authentic self.

Loss & Grief

The death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, or the mourning of a life path not taken.

Grief is rarely linear, and it cannot be rushed. Whether your loss is recent or longstanding, I offer a compassionate, non-judgmental container to process the heavy, complex, and often conflicting emotions that come with saying goodbye.

Existential Concerns & Life Transitions

Sudden loss of meaning, mid-life crises, career shifts, and the heavy questions of purpose.

Major life transitions often trigger a deeper, existential dread or a feeling of "Who am I now?" We will lean into these big questions together, transforming moments of profound uncertainty into a foundation for conscious, intentional living.

Therapy isn't about fixing what is 'broken'—it is about understanding the complex story of how you adapted to survive, and gently making space for you to grow beyond those old boundaries.
